School of Sexuality Education is looking for a Fundraising / Grants Adviser to help build our philanthropic income streams. 

What will you be doing?

School of Sexuality Education is looking for a Fundraising / Grants Adviser who will support the charity in building our trusts and foundations pipeline to help build a sustainable, and long-term income stream for the charity. 

The role would involve:

  • Advise on the overall direction of the charity’s fundraising initiatives, helping to identify priorities and create and implement fundraising plans.
  • Work strategically with the senior leadership team to help develop plans to annual fundraising targets and meet with funders and donors to understand their interests and priorities.
  • Research and recommend funding opportunities for projects at School of Sexuality Education. 
  • Target emerging funding streams and work with fundraising consultants and the team to submit applications.

Advisors may also be invited to attend School of Sexuality Education events from time to time.

We are looking for people to commit to 1-2 hours a week.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people with an interest in education, particularly the transformative impact of inclusive Relationships and Sex Education.

Skills and experience

  • Considerable relevant work experience in a fundraising or philanthropy position in the non-profit or charity sector.
  • Proven experience in securing income from trusts and foundations.
  • Previous experience of managing a portfolio of donors at different stages.
  • Demonstrable experience of fundraising, including a proven track record of securing substantial grants from local authorities, trusts and foundations.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to juggle short-term, tight deadlines with longer term projects.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills - reflecting the charity’s professional integrity as well as its unembarrassable approach.
  • Enjoy working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
