Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Team Kenya is a small, effective and ambitious CIO working with women and girls in Ndhiwa, Western Kenya. We are looking for experienced Fundraising Events and Campaigns Officers (volunteer) to join our small team.

What will you be doing?

We are currently looking for experienced Fundraising Events and Campaigns Officers (volunteer) to join our small team. With a passion for running successful fundraising campaigns and events, you will help Team Kenya to develop a suite of fundraising initiatives to generate income, raise awareness and engage supporters. Building on our range of successful fundraising events and campaigns, you will support the development of our fundraising both in the UK and internationally.

This is a key volunteer role within the organisation and you will have the opportunity to make an impact and shape the future direction of our fundraising portfolio while improving the lives of girls and women living in Ndhiwa, Western Kenya. We hope that the right people will work with us to provide direction, support and to recruit and manage additional volunteers as needed to achieve our fundraising goals.

Specifically, you will:

  • Plan, support and deliver events and activities organised directly by the organisation and encourage participation in events organised externally.
  • Act as a point of contact for third party event fundraisers and to offer support where needed
  • Maximise publicity on all fundraising activity across our audiences
  • Support individuals and organisations to fundraise for the charity and support them with their fundraising activity.
  • Support and maximise all third party led event and challenge fundraising initiatives.
  • Proactively approach past fundraisers (where approved) to encourage repeat fundraising.
  • Provide effective customer care, for both participants and events partners/supporters at sponsored or challenge events (i.e. Marathons) – by letter, email, phone and face to face including sending out of supporter packs and checking in with fundraisers.

What are we looking for?

What we are looking for:

- Fundraising Experience

- Interest in excellent stewardship of event participants.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Interest in International Development.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Positive, enthusiastic and persuasive.

What difference will you make?

Not only will you be able to support Team Kenya to raise vital funds for our programmes, you will also be part of a wider agenda to amplify the voice of girls and women globally and raise awareness. We may be small, but we are ambitious, and to achieve our goals we rely on the amazing support of the team of volunteers that work with us. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation and without them we would not be able to impact the lives of hundreds of girls and women in Ndhiwa.
