We typically request a minimum of two hours a week from our regular volunteers, but we can be flexible

Help raise money for our charity through events, community fundraising and company sponsorship.

What will you be doing?

  • Build relationships with major donors or companies and make presentations 
  • Manage information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a database 
  • Research fundraising opportunities and spot fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of Shine A Light’s work 
  • Devise and organise fundraising campaigns and events 
  • Account handling: ensuring major donors or companies are happy with their donation scheme (such as a charity of the year partnership) and are kept informed of progress and milestones 
  • Manage their own budget and ensure that targets are met

What are we looking for?

  • You will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Experience in researching and devising strategies and opportunistically taking advantage of donation possibilities. 
  • Adept at building long-term relationships with potential donors or volunteers and persuasively explaining Shine A Light’s services and cause. 
  • The ability to manage budgets and hit fundraising targets as well as good organisational and IT skills. 
  • An interest in, and commitment to Shine A Light 
  • You will need to work closely with the events, volunteer and donations co-ordinators

Before you apply

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete an application form for our records. You will be invited to an induction day, where you will receive basic training, and have an informal interview. This will be lead by our CEO and will be an opportunity to learn more about what we do and meet some of our team.
