We are a small but growing charity, based in Southern Province, Zambia. We were founded in 2019 to relieve the suffering of working donkeys, and have already made a big impact, but need to find someone to help with vital fundraising.

What will you be doing?

We need someone with experience in fundraising in the charity sector to set up and continue support by generating an income through fundraising strategy, raising donations, funding research, bid writing etc. We hope this can be done remotely as we are currently 'home based' in the U.K. (Devon). Our work is in rural Zambia, and at present we focus on a number of areas including; relieving donkeys of crippling wooden ox yokes by replacing with locally made harnesses, modifying heavy carts, along with outreach programs to tend injuries and promote awareness through education - as well as vital education work, giving support to the owners whose livelihoods depend on these animals.
We have built a rescue and rehabilitation centre where we take in animals for respite and recuperation and which is also now home to a growing number of permanent residents too old, sick or blind to work. All this requires constant funding. We are hoping very much that someone out there can help us with this. Thank you for reading...

What are we looking for?

We are looking for one or more experienced fundraisers to support our work through different channels such as writing grant applications, creative social media campaigns, legacy giving, events etc.

What difference will you make?

As stated previously, we have begun to make a real difference to the lives of abused and neglected working donkeys (and their owners) in rural Zambia, but we want to do more! The use of donkeys as draught animals is on the increase across Zambia and we really want to expand our reach, but cannot to do without the funds to do it.
