We are looking for a volunteer who can help drive fundraising in Scotland and support the initiation of a 'Scottish Supporter Network'.

What will you be doing?

At Open Arms, we believe that every child has the right to survival and development. We provide essential care for Malawi's orphaned and abandoned children, giving them the chance to achieve their potential within the love and security of a home. Our principal aim is to support the return of fit and healthy toddlers to their extended families. We work closely with communities to build brighter futures for children and their families for generations to come.

Open Arms Malawi is dedicated to raising funds to support vulnerable children, their families and their communities in Malawi.  Since we were established in 2000, 100% of our funds have been directed to Open Arms Infant Homes, a separate and independent trust based in Malawi.  As a small, part time team, we work hard to raise awareness and funds that are essential to Open Arms Infant Homes and the other projects that they are involved with in Malawi. We are fortunate to be supported by many dedicated volunteers from all across the UK who help with events, communications, administration and much more. A board of nine trustees provide governance for our UK operations, making sure we raise funds compliantly and that the money sent to Malawi is used effectively.

The team is currently based remotely across England and Scotland. We are currently looking for a volunteer to specifically help support our work in Scotland. We work closely with schools, universities and key individuals, and are now looking to expand our network in Scotland, encourage wider participation, and promote engagement across UK-wide school networks. We are looking for a volunteer who can help drive fundraising in Scotland and support the initiation of a 'Scottish Supporter Network'. You will support the teams' existing Fundraiser in Scotland, and work together to promote Open Arms in the Scottish international development field. Tasks will include digital communications, blog writing, emails, website support, scoping research, and supporting digital events and campaigns. In light of COVID-19, it is not necessary to be based in Scotland as all work will be online until further notice, but knowledge/experience of Scottish relationships would be highly beneficial. Proficiency in digital software, communications, events, fundraising, network coordination and campaigns is also preferred. Hours per week are also flexible. Please get in touch to apply!
