Joining Careers Springboard as a Fundraiser Volunteer provides a unique opportunity for those who wish to undertake activities which will benefit the South Bucks community and which will enhance a personal sense of achievement.
In order to meet its financial/operational commitments Careers Springboard requires £5,000 of funding annually. A Fundraiser volunteer is required who will focus on the various ways in which funding can be sought and applications submitted.
Careers Springboard is a registered charity, self-help group, established over 25 years ago in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, staffed by volunteers, providing help and guidance to redundant and unemployed professionals and to graduates who seek employment.
There is a programme of weekly Monday evening meetings (at Gerrards Cross) on job search skills such as CV preparation, Internet job search, telephone techniques, networking, Linkedin, interview preparation etc.
Some experience of searching for funding opportunities and making successful funding applications would be a big advantage to applicants.
The funding application work will be mostly from home, approx. 3-4 hours per week on a personal computer.
Attendance once a month to our Monday evening meetings at Gerrards Cross would be expected in order for the fundraiser to be familiar with Trustee colleagues, with our week by week activities and with those in a job search situation whom we are trying to help.
Needing up to £5000 per year to pay for insurance, equipment, stationery, computer services etc, the volunteer fundraiser will be a key member of the Executive Committee and an important Trustee.
Careers Springboard is proud of its record over almost 30 years in leading over 3000 job seekers back into employment. The challenge for a volunteer fundraiser is to secure the funds necessary for Careers Springboard to continue this valuable work in the years ahead,
This volunteer fundraiser role will work closely with the Careers Springboard chairperson and Treasurer in order to identify the impact of raising funds. Patience and determination will be key factors in success in the role. Support will come from a dozen Trustees and up to 20 volunteers who are actively involved in the charity.
With 28 years of active work helping job seekers in South Bucks/Chilterns, applicants can be sure that they are applying to a proven, dynamic and very active registered charity.
