Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

At Bertha’s Legacy, we are dedicated to empowering women who have experienced gender-based violence. We are taking our mission to the next level, and we need a passionate and skilled Fundraiser / Grant Writer to help make it happen.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you’ll:

  • Research funding opportunities and develop a strategic grant-writing pipeline.
  • Craft compelling proposals for corporate and foundation donors.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure funding aligns with our mission of supporting survivors and ending gender-based violence.
  • Help us secure the resources needed to expand our advocacy, support services, and skills training programs.

You’ll work a flexible schedule of 3–5 hours a week, with ongoing support and guidance.

Whether you have experience in fundraising or are eager to expand your knowledge, we value your enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to our cause.

What are we looking for?

Skills

  • Proven experience in grant writing and securing funding from trusts, foundations, or corporate donors.
  • Strong research skills to identify and assess potential funding opportunities.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling, persuasive narratives that align with our mission.
  • Understanding of budget development and the ability to present financial information in grant proposals.

Experience

  • A background in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with funding in the areas of gender equality, women’s empowerment, or social justice is highly desirable.

Qualities

  • Passionate about gender equality and ending gender-based violence.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with funders and team members alike.

What difference will you make?

As a UK-based organisation, we combine advocacy, support services, and skills training to empower women and drive systemic change. Your contributions as a Fundraiser / Grant Writer will directly impact our ability to expand these programs, ensuring we reach more women and make a greater difference in 2025. This is a unique opportunity to use your skills for good and be part of a movement that fights for justice and equality daily. With your help, Bertha’s Legacy will secure the funding needed to empower survivors of gender-based violence, provide life-changing support services, and advocate for societal change. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a brighter, safer future for women and marginalised communities worldwide.
