We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to help develop our funding strategy, to research funding opportunities and to write winning bids.

What will you be doing?

You will mainly be working from home and your main tools will be your computer and your phone.
You will be familiarising yourself with the charity through our website, discussions with our friendly and enthusiastic CEO and her team, and, if practicable, by visiting projects.
You will be researching funding opportunities from government, local government, grant giving trusts, lottery etc and any other appropriate sources. You will also be investigating sponsorship from commercial organisations.
You will identify the opportunities that best match the charity's needs and write fluent and persuasive funding applications.
You will have the chance to attend on-line training courses as available
You will have the chance to become involved in other aspects of the charity's work if you wish to do so.

What are we looking for?

Experience of researching funding opportunities and writing persuasive bids.
Excellent writing skills
Good general computer skills (wordprocessing, email, Zoom or similar etc)
Good telephone skills
Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
Open to feedback
Ability to work flexibly on your own or as part of a team
Enthusiasm and commitment to our mission and objectives
Knowledge and understanding of the environmental movement would be a distinct advantage

You will be working with some wonderfully talented volunteers and our amazing and very approachable CEO.

This is a critical time for Sussex Green Living. Last year our ambitious new project, the Bright New Futures Roadshow was launched successfully, despite Covid, and visited over thirty venues (schools, community events etc). We want to build on this success and expand our reach to other communities, inspiring and supporting new initiatives. You will be a key party to our ambitions.

You will have the chance to enjoy the fun and entertainment of our outreach projects as well be part of a vitally important and growing movement of people seriously concerned about the future of our planet.
