Do you want to be part of a growing Charity that focuses on equality for Male survivors of sexual abuse?  Are you an outstanding fundraiser? bid writer? who can volunteer some time and expertise to a small but mighty organisation?

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a volunteer fundraiser/bid writer to assist our CEO with securing and diversify our funding streams.  MSP is a fairly new registered Charity with a big mission.  We are the only male-focussed membership organisation in the UK. MSP currently is a one-person band, so support and help is much needed.

We need funding to build our team, increase our membership and  increase our resources for the sexual abuse sector.

Our volunteer fundraiser/bid writer, with the CEO will identify funds and make applications where appropriate.  These will be small applications or larger Trust/Government Grants and Commissioned Tenders.

We are completely flexible, we work remote and welcome those who can offer 1 or more hours a week.  We need the experience and expertise to make a difference, so we just appreciate the time someone, with the right skills can give us, to get us further off the ground. You may not have the time to write bids, but can proof read and consult on ones that have been written.  You may not be able to offer regular hours, we don't mind.  We just want the right person, who can help us succeed in strengthening the purse strings.  If that person is you, please get in touch.

What are we looking for?

Our volunteer fundraiser/bid writer is an experienced fundraiser/bid writer who would ideally have the following skills:

  • motivate and facilitate supporters to maximise the funds they raise
  • inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters
  • increase funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the charity's aims and activities
  • write applications and mail-shots, using direct mailing to reach a range of potential and current donors

As a volunteer you should have an interest in the Charity and its' objectives. We welcome volunteers with lived experience of sexual abuse (although this will not be asked at any stage).

What difference will you make?

The impact in increasing our funding will be huge.  The MSP is a National membership organisation but has limited capacity, in terms of funding, to achieve the charities objectives.   Having support with fundraising and being able to diversify our funds, will help our mission to ensure that male survivors of sexual abuse are treated fairly, appropriately and sensitively by those who are supposed to support them.

The bigger we grow, the more our voice has an impact and local and central government level.

Building our funding is fundamental to the survival of the Charity.
