  • We seek an experienced fundraiser to work with our Director to secure funding for our Creative Pathways programme, which supports young people with fewer advantages to explore the arts, build skills and consider career options.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking the support of a volunteer fundraiser to work with our Director towards raising c.£40k towards two staff roles and our Creative Pathways programme in 2025/26. Creative Pathways supports less advantaged young people to explore the arts in their local area. meet creative professionals and then take up opportunities and roles with the magazine. We use youth journalism to build young people's confidence and skills and both staff work directly with young people.

We have a fundraising strategy, a good list of prospects and plenty of impact evidence to support bids but are facing challenges in maintaining our funding streams in the current climate.Tasks would include:

  • developing and writing bids to selected funders
  • further building our prospects pipeline
  • supporting our approach to donors and sponsors

What are we looking for?

The right candidate will have:

  • experience in securing grants from trusts and foundations (knowledge of Midlands funders may be helpful)
  • a good understanding of fundraising for the arts and media sector and/or youth training and career development
  • some experience of gaining funds through donors and sponsors would be helpful
  • excellent writing skills

What difference will you make?

  • The fundraiser would directly help us to maintain our work with disadvantaged young people
  • Our Creative Pathways programme is currently running local projects with young people in Mansfield and Stoke-on-Trent, with care experienced young people in Dudley, and with rural young people in Shropshire. The programme also provides training and mentoring for around 20 trainees to support their entry into the cultural sector each year. It supports two staff roles who work directly with young people
  • Our current funding for Creative Pathways finishes in July 2025.
  • The fundraiser would help us to maintain these roles and projects and extend our youth journalism approach to other parts of the Midlands. We know there is interest provided we can maintain the expertise and development time for our team.
