We are seeking a dedicated Funding / Grants Manager to support our mission of addressing social issues faced by young people. This role is essential for securing the financial resources needed to sustain and expand our programmes.

What will you be doing?

The MABA Group is a dynamic, youth-led organisation committed to addressing social issues affecting young people. We teach life-skills through the use of sports, music, creative arts and education by host empowerment events and workshops. We are dedicated to fostering the potential of the next generation by providing them with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. We are seeking a dedicated Funding / Grants Application Volunteer to join our team and help secure financial resources to expand our impact. This role is crucial in enabling us to develop and sustain programs that empower youth and foster positive community change.

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Identify and research potential funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
  • Application Preparation: Assist in writing and submitting compelling grant applications and funding proposals, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organisational goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and the leadership team to gather necessary information, data, and stories to support applications.
  • Documentation: Maintain organised records of funding opportunities, application deadlines, and submitted proposals.
  • Follow-Up: Track the status of applications and provide timely updates to the team; assist in preparing reports for funders on the use and impact of granted funds.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and communication skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Passion for youth empowerment and social change.
