Ignite Hubs is a new charitable organisation that is run and led by volunteers. We are looking to pioneer innovative and exciting ways for children and young people to learn.

What will you be doing?

Our vision is to nurture and enrich young minds to explore, grow and learn. We seek to equip each child or young person with the tools and skills to be successful in school and life.

We aim to:

  • Create the best learning environment for children and young people from all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Support, develop and empower young people into work.
  • Value, support and develop our volunteers and help them realise their potential and aspirations.
  • Build a better community and bring people together.

We plan to offer classes, workshops and events to children and young people on a variety of subjects such as coding, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), enterprise, creativity & innovation and health & wellbeing.

We are based at Peckham Library, London SE15.

What are we looking for?

We are building an exciting design-led website and looking for an experienced agile, full stack developer who is able to develop our website and portals using modern tools and technologies. You will be part of a strong IT team and be fully supported by an experienced CTO.

You will be able to :

  • Translate designs and specification into high quality user focused website and applications.
  • Create/update static content and images on Wordpress or stand-alone content.
  • Create/edit templates edits using CSS/HTML
  • Setup & administer Wordpress
  • Develop PHP, HTML, CSS and JS artifacts on Wordpress that are reusable
  • At least 2-3 years commercial experience with Wordpress, PHP, HTML5, Javascript,  SASS, CSS & MYSQL
  • Perform Cross browser testing, bugfixes and code updates
  • Troubleshoot application bugs and determine solutions
  • Have knowledge of Bootstrap or React JS as a plus.
  • Have knowledge of developing and deploying to the cloud such as Azure or AWS as a plus.
