The Jubilee Foodbank Market Harborough is looking for a trustee with experience and a passion for communication and social media to join our committee.

What will you be doing?

The Jubilee Foodbank Market Harborough is a registered charity whose objective is the prevention or relief of food poverty in Market Harborough and the surrounding area by providing food parcels and other access to food to individuals and families in need.

We are looking for someone who can:

Communicate with local radio and newspapers including press releases where appropriate;
Confirm the message that the Jubilee Foodbank would like to see an end to food poverty;
Communicate stock levels and need for donations as appropriate;
Create posters, or support others with creating posters, for collection points and community events;
Organise volunteers and resources for any community events;
Update website pictures, the food needed lists, and content as requested;
Update social media posts as requested;
Check messages and forward to the relevant trustee unless a ‘standard’ response can be given;
Use the website and social media to acknowledge donations and post thanks;
Attend monthly Trustee meetings in Market Harborough, usually held on a weekday evening for approximately 2 hours.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with Social Media experience, mainly Facebook and Instagram as they will be responsible for scheduling regular posts. Experience of updating websites is also necessary, as well as design skills to help with the design of flyers and leaflets.

Everything the trustee does must be for the benefit of the charity and towards our objective of the relief of food poverty.

What difference will you make?

Social media and website updating can be time-consuming and support is required to keep the website and online accounts up-to-date. It is also one of our main channels of communication between us and the general public.

As a member of our board, you will help deliver our message about the relief of food poverty to bith donors and users of the food bank.
