Are you passionate about ending domestic abuse and social injustice? As our new finance trustee you could help ESDAS not only to sustain its current life saving services but also to thrive in a challenging world.
As well as acting as a Trustee the role of the Finance Trustee is to maintain strategic oversight; monitor the financial administration of the charity and report to the Board at regular intervals on the state of its financial health. You will liaise with the CEO and Finance Manager, (a qualified accountant), with monthly phone calls.
There is a full role description in the candidate pack.
We are looking for a courageous, committed and innovative individual who wants to play their part in ending the social injustice of domestic abuse and violence. The right person will join a board of like-minded people who each bring their relevant experience and expertise to their Trustee role.
Our ambition is to work together to promote a more inclusive environment and we want our Trustee Board to be reflective of the community we serve. We welcome the unique contributions that you can bring in terms of your education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs.
Due to the gendered nature of domestic abuse and our Women’s Aid Service Standard Accreditation we are seeking a female Finance Trustee.
You'll be joining an organisation with a proven track record of delivering high quality life saving services to survivors and whose work has achieved both local and national recognition.
In the words of one of our trustees, “This is the most important work any individual can be doing in today’s society; I’m honoured to have been a part of this organisation”.
And a survivor, “Thank you so much, you have given me so much knowledge, strength and support. This is the start of a new way of thinking and living my life”.
To fully understand the work we do please take a moment to watch this short film – the content can be challenging to watch but it shows you the reality of what we do at ESDAS.
