The Finance Manager is a strategic role on the Executive Committee. They must have several years of experience controlling budgets and creating financial plans in order to help the orchestra achieve its short and long-term objectives.

What will you be doing?

· Develop and implement a financial strategy for the orchestra to maintain the financial solvency of the orchestra

· Update the Executive Committee on the financial status of the orchestra on a monthly and annual basis

· Promote the orchestra as a premier non-professional symphony orchestra in London

· Create a financial forecast for the orchestra per season and per term to determine required costs and expenses

· Ensure taxes are paid on time and in accordance with the law

· Create end of year filing documents as necessary for the orchestra

· Create invoices and submit to vendors and players where necessary

· Track payment of invoices

· Monitor ticket sales for each concert

· Communicate with the orchestra on deadlines for term subscription payments

· Monitor the payment of member subscriptions and request payment from orchestra members if not received on-time

· Collaborate with other members of the Executive Committee on budget requirements for their function

·  As a member of the Executive Committee, review and approve or deny proposals from other members of the orchestra including the overall strategy of the orchestra

Skills Required

· Experience in a finance or accounting role

· Academic background in finance, accounting, or other related field

· Experience managing budgets

· Experience with forecasting

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent communication skills

Commitment

· Attendance at the monthly Executive Committee meeting is mandatory (date and time to be selected once all Executive Committee members are in place)

· This role is for a minimum of 1 year, preferably 3

What difference will you make?

New London Harmonia is a new non-professional symphony orchestra in London. Building a strong financial structure is critical to the growth and success of our orchestra. The Finance Manager will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Repertoire Committee and Concert Day Manager on production costs, with our Marketing and Business Development Managers on important investments, and most importantly to collaborate with the Board of Trustees on the overall strategy of the orchestra. We are looking for someone who is passionate about sharing their professional skills as a crtiical member of our ExCo to achieve our ambitions.
