We are seeking a finance and/or accounting professional at board level to play a pivotal role in guiding our organisation toward financial sustainability.

What will you be doing?

Background of the Organisation

The Land Collective is currently in the midst of revamping our business model and financial allocations to create a more sustainable future. As a small social enterprise, we have relied heavily on the dedication of our founder, who has self-funded the organisation and taken on freelance work to bridge financial gaps.

While we are proud to have established strong relationships with corporate partners who support our programmes, we recognise the need for additional guidance to maximise these partnerships financially, build reserves, and plan strategically for the future. Our goal is to stabilise our finances and ensure our mission can thrive without over-reliance on external or personal funding.

Key Deliverables

  • A comprehensive financial forecast and budget that supports sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Regular financial updates to the board and leadership team, ensuring clarity and informed decision-making.
  • A clear financial strategy to stabilise the organisation’s finances and maximise its impact.
  • Recommendations and actionable plans to achieve profitability, build reserves, and improve financial health.

What are we looking for?

What You’ll Do

  • Support the financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning of the organisation, ensuring alignment with our goals and mission.
  • Provide strategic advice to the founder and leadership team on pathways to profitability, helping to turn around the organisation’s current financial position.
  • Analyse financial data and produce reports to inform decision-making and ensure transparency.
  • Help create and implement financial strategies to maximise income and manage costs effectively.
  • Advise on financial risks and opportunities, ensuring the organisation operates within its financial means.
  • Offer insights into funding strategies, including sponsorships, grants, and income-generating activities.

  • Knowledge of Community Interest Companies (CICs) or similar structures, with an understanding of their unique financial needs.
  • Experience supporting organisations in financial turnaround situations is highly desirable.

Qualities:

  • Non-judgemental, empathetic, and supportive, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on young people’s lives.
