What will you be doing?

Kathryn’s Cause is seeking a Finance & Accounting Expert to join our board of trustees. In this voluntary position, you will play a key role in overseeing the charity's financial management, ensuring transparency, and supporting our growth. You will help guide our financial strategy, ensure compliance with charity regulations, and contribute to fundraising efforts that are essential to the charity’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the charity’s financial health, ensuring transparency, proper budgeting, and accountability.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including annual statements, to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Support fundraising activities, ensuring proper allocation and tracking of donations and grants.
  • Provide advice on financial strategy, including cost-saving measures and long-term financial planning.
  • Ensure the charity adheres to financial regulations and best practices in charitable accounting.
  • Assist in securing funding and grants to support the charity’s initiatives.

This is a voluntary role offering a chance to contribute to a growing charity with a meaningful mission to raise awareness for brain hemorrhages and support affected families. Your expertise will directly impact the charity's success and sustainability.

What are we looking for?

  • Financial Expertise – Background in accounting, financial management, or audit, with a strong understanding of charity finances.
  • Budgeting & Reporting – Experience in managing budgets, preparing financial statements, and understanding financial reports.
  • Fundraising Insight – Familiarity with fundraising strategies and ensuring that donations and grants are used efficiently and in line with legal and ethical standards.
  • Risk Management & Financial Strategy – Ability to assess and mitigate financial risks while supporting long-term planning and growth.
  • Regulatory Knowledge – Understanding of charity financial regulations and compliance requirements (preferably with experience in charity law).
