We are looking for an experienced, hands on team member to support our current round of fundraising. Insight Outreach have recently developed a dynamic funding strategy and are keen to attract a similar dynamic colleague to progress bids.

What will you be doing?

The role enables you to work from home with the occasional face to face meetings if your time allows. We wish to attract a colleague with proven bid writing expertise directed toward established and newer grant making bodies. We wish to attract experience of developing income generation and strategic partnerships with both the public and private sector.  IO are at an exciting place as we begin the fifth year of our Oxbridge Mentoring Scheme (OMS), having successfully secured 76 open and competitive offers to Oxbridge since 2018 for state school students. This year, 71% of our students receive free school meals and 68% will be in the first generation of their family to go to university. Each of our students receives approximately £1000 worth of mentoring pro bono, by our volunteer mentors. To date, we have delivered over £250,000 worth of valuable mentoring to our community of students. To build on our success, we wish grow our core offering by increasing the number of mentors and mentees our value add and our mpact. We also wish to grow our existing community and develop outreach programmes.  To drive our ambitions, we have recently articulated our value proposition so it is meaningful to our users and potential funders both qualitatively and quantitatively. We also identified communication strategies and timelines for stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for writing bids to timescale that align with our value proposition and pursuing corporate partnerships that are already identified. The opportunities identified in the corporate world are varied, unique and challenging. We are looking for a dynamic thinker, so you will have every opportunity to contribute to informing our stakeholder and communications strategy.  You will be considered and confident in trying new approaches and working collaboratively. Crucially, our ambition is to introduce a suite of skills based courses and programmes. This aspect support is vital as we recognise that social mobility is not just about access to education but also building social capital and helping to develop skills that will help secure jobs upon graduation.  You will be working closely alongside one of our Trustees who is leading on Bid Writing and Partnerships, this will be a team effort!

What are we looking for?

Income generation - Fundraising strategy and events, bid writing.

Research and Analysis

What difference will you make?

Your input will help us thrive and make our long term growth sustainable at a critical time. We recognise our need to be responsive and adapt in a competitive charitable space. Your technical expertise in bid writing will be greatly valued as well as your relationship skills that will enable us to raise awareness and build networks. We are ready to  scale up our offering - by trebling our mentee cohort from 60 to 180 by 2024. You contribution will fund our outreach programmes with schools enabling us to develop a continued pipeline of academically able and ambitious students to join the OMS. Crucially, in helping to generate funds and build partnerships we can fulfil our ambition of not helping mentees to "get in"  o Oxbridge and top tier Universities but also to enable our mentees to "get on' also.  We are especially keen to raise funds to ensure that our mentees have parity of experience with their better established peers whilst at University - in terms of networking and internships opportunities.  We seek to raise funds so that our mentees can access high calibre localised work experience and in so doing have a sense of place in their community. We mentor students from all over the UK and we wish to provide work experience for our geographically diverse talented pool - in their local areas. Your contribution will enable us to fund valuable careers and wealth management programmes for our cohorts who willl not typically have - within their homes or within their networks  - targeted careers consultation advice or a financial heritage on which to build upon. It's important to us that we are able to not only position,  but also to launch our mentees as they embark on their own personal social mobility journeys.
