Preparing young people with skills for life. We're Scouts and everyone is welcome here. Every week, we help almost half a million people aged 4-25 develop skills for life. Are you ready to join the adventure?
We are looking for those experienced in working with young people who can organise their weekly activities.
We have an excellent meeting place and plenty of resources on hand to facilitate activities. We have experienced leaders to support you in the role and lots of training opportunities should you wish to upskill for your own development.
At Scouts we celebrate difference and welcome everyone.
Whatever your background, identity or ability, there’s a volunteer spot with your name on it. Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way.
We meet on evenings during term times in Crumpsall.
What would you be doing as a volunteer?
Our volunteers work directly with young people aged 6 to 14 through our groups, known as Sections, which are:
Beavers (age 6 - 8)
Cubs (age 8 - 11)
Scouts (age 11 - 14)
Working in teams, our volunteers might:
- Welcome young people and families to sessions and events
- Make sure everyone's safe, supported, included and having fun
- Help to plan and lead activities
- Get involved with days out, camps and expeditions
- Share and learn skills – from coding to cake decorating to canoeing
- Celebrate young people's achievements big and small
All volunteers are offered skills training which is excellent for adding to your CV or job applications.
