The Executive Officer (part-time) of the Scientific and Medical Network will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, staff management, and growth initiatives of the network and be supportive of its aims. 

What will you be doing?

  1. Provide leadership and guidance to network staff and volunteers, through setting up and maintaining a process of staff supervision and annual performance development review.
  2. Identify opportunities for funding, grants, and sponsorships to support network activities and initiatives, and to contribute to the writing of bids.
  3. Establish strategies for good communication between the Trustees/Board of Directors (BOD), Operational Management Team (OMT, and associated groups / projects including the Galileo Commission.  
  4. Collaborate with the Trustees and OMT team to develop and implement marketing strategies to raise awareness of the network and its initiatives

What are we looking for?

Essential Extensive experience of organisational leadership, including strategic planning.  

Extensive experience of staff management, including staff supervision and annual performance development review

Highly desired:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience in managing teams and driving collaborative efforts.

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative initiatives to advance the network's objectives.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Knowledge of fundraising strategies and experience in securing project funding.

Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Scientific and Medical Network.
