Voice Out Woman (VOW) is a charitable organisation that provides support to women from the BAME community improving women’s skills and abilities in term of employability.

 

What will you be doing?

Main purpose of the job:

  • Organise activities and project to raise funds
  • Identify and build relationship with potential donors
  • Design and produce promotional materials
  • Raise awareness of the charity’s aims, goals and financial needs
  • Monitor budgets, expense, reports or other financial datas

 

Key Task and Responsibilities:

  • Develop corporate fundraising programmes (Gala Awards Dinner, Empowerment Conferences)
  • Develop strategies to encourage new or increase contributions
  • Create and update donor databases
  • Monitor progress of fundraising activities and projects
  • Design or produce material such as posters, websites or newsletter to promote, market or advertise fundraising events.
  • Contact corporate representatives, Government officials or community leaders to increase awareness of the charity causes, activities or needs.
  • The volunteer is required to carry out tasks within his/her level of skills and abilities

 

Person Specification:

  • Desirable at least 3 years previous experience as fundraiser
  • Good experience with bid-writing
  • Commitment to empowering women voices and rights
  • Creativity, imagination and an entrepreneurial attitude towards fundraising
  • Proactive attitude, drive and enthusiasm to carry out projects to conclusion
  • Good organisation and project management  skills
  • Be able to work as a part of a team

What are we looking for?

You will at least 3 years experience of raising funds.

  • Supporting our community fundraising group to help raise vital funds and the profile of the charity. You will attend regular meetings throughout the year to discuss and plan events.
  • You can also get involved with leading on fundraising events such as open gardens, quiz nights and music evenings.
  • You will be required to think of new event ideas to boost our fundraising efforts.
  • You will be asked to build links with local businesses and maintain existing connections to increase their financial and in-kind support of our work (such as providing raffle prizes and venue space).
  • You will assist at events by helping to set up and looking after a stand/stall.
  • You will support the promotion of our events through social media and posting publicity material in your local community.
