Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Home-Start Northampton is looking for a volunteer events manager/advisor to provide hands-on support to help us run events, of any size, to raise funds to support our work with families in the local community.

What will you be doing?

Home-Start Northampton is looking for a volunteer events manager advisor to help boost their much needed fundraising and awareness.

Home-Start Northampton works in the local community to support families with children under 5 years old, by offering practical and emotional support through a network of trained volunteers and support groups.

We need hands-on support from a volunteer events manager – someone who can find, organise/project manage events in the community.

You don’t necessarily need to be working in a similar role, but you do need to be organised, pro-active and work with our social media advisor, to jointly have a creative flair that will help our events advertising cut through the noise.

What is a Home-Start Advisor?

  • Our advisors support the Board by providing expertise and guidance in their area of expertise, on an ad-hoc, remote basis.
  • You can provide advisory completely remotely and give as much or as little time as you can spare.
  • You could be invited to our Board or sub-committee meetings but our advisors are not official Board roles and you do not have to join as a charity trustee.

We are:

  • A small but mighty local charity working to support families with children under 5
  • Committed to offering practical and emotional support, in-home and through support groups
  • Keen to demonstrate how our services support and are available for families in the town

What are we looking for?

You are:

  • An events manager
  • Able to provide hands-on support for fundraising events
  • Passionate about giving every child the childhood they deserve
  • Non-judgemental, compassionate, and caring
  • Organised
  • Attention to detail
  • Imaginative, creative
  • Ability to work/plan on own
  • passionate about young children

What difference will you make?

You will make a difference to local vulnerable families, now and forever, by allowing us to reach and support more families through their most difficult/challenging times by raising funds.  We change children's childhoods, you will be part of that team.

Before you apply

  • Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our application form and be invited for interview.
