To be responsible for organising events to raise the profile and funds for the charity.

What will you be doing?

Overall Purpose

To be responsible for organising events in order to raise the profile of LHCRT and raise funds.

The role is flexible to cover some or all of the below tasks (with the support of the other volunteers).

  • Attend monthly marketing meetings
  • Understand the requirements for each event
  • Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Book venues and event spaces
  • If appropriate, research vendors (catering, musicians etc.) and choose based on quality and cost
  • Manage event operations (preparing venue, tickets etc.)
  • Co-ordinate rotas of supporting volunteers
  • Carry out final checks before and on the day of the event to ensure everything meets standards
  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
  • Evaluate event successes and submit reports if necessary

Events could be anywhere across Lichfield and sometimes further afield.

What difference will you make?

You will be helping us increase our profile and raise funds to restore and rebuild both the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals and reconnect them to the national network, creating a green and blue corridor for the benefit of our local and wider community and available for navigation.
