ecobirmingham want to help create a sustainable, low carbon city. We are looking for someone to develop an in-depth method for our small team to use for measuring the impact of our work with communities across the city.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an external person who will:

  • Develop an in-depth approach to measuring the quantitative and qualitative impact of our work with communities across the city that can easily be used by our small team.
  • Develop a paperless evaluation method to enable the team to save time and resources.
  • Provide training in order for the team to report effectively.

The purposes of our evaluation:

  • To evaluate the extent each of our projects (covering the areas of Transport, Food, Education, Waste, Water, Arts Engagement and Energy) meets its primary aims, objectives and outcomes.
  • To consider the quality of experience of participants and audiences during the projects.
  • To evaluate the extent our work is positively impacting on the environment in the communities we work in.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer with the expertise and experience required to undertake this role. You will have proven work experience in:

  • Research
  • Advice / advocacy
  • Training

What difference will you make?

We are a small organisation with a range of skills, but need support to grow the organisation, its profile, impact, reach and improve its long term resilience. Your input will help us ensure our projects remain relevant and impactful. This will, in turn, allow us to help more people to take positive action toward living more sustainably.

What's in it for the volunteer?

The support we receive is extremely valued and intrinsic to our success. You will be part of a small but well-regarded charity project. You will be able to pass your skills on to others and influence the future development of the organisation.

Before you apply

To submit an expression of interest please send us: A short biography, including relevant experience, an example of proposed methodology and an indication of how you would approach the evaluation of our work creatively and innovatively.
