Oxfordshire, OX29 7XZ
Mainly at home
Travel limit? Ideally close to Oxford but we will consider strong candidates from other areas.

Either in or out of office hours Estimate of time needed:
0-5 hours / month
Trustee meetings are quarterly and last 1-2 hours. Current trustees offer 2-3 hours per month outside this but this may grow with the charity.

We need someone within our trustee board to guide us in promoting the project and engaging with our customers and supporters.

What will you be doing?

The trustee would lead on the develpment of a social media engagement strategy and manage our social media accounts as well as contributing to our website. There is flexibility to the role as you would also be able to get involved in and potentially take a lead on engaging with partners in the sector.

Trustee meetings take place quarterly and you would be expected to attend and play an active part in these meetings, working closely with the rest of the trustee team. All our trustees also get involved in promoting the project and sales a stall at occasional events and festivals.

What are we looking for?

You would have casual or professional experience in social media engagement or marketing, as well as a strong interest in social action and a desire to use your skills to help those in need. Ideally you would also have an interest in sustainable fashion and fair production practices. You would ideally be based within reach of Oxford.

As our trustees have a significant leadership and governance role it is a genuine occupational requirement that all our trustees have a Christian faith.

What difference will you make?

The role will help us to reach a wide customer base, ensuring a consumer outlet for our beneficiaries' work and therefore facilitating our primary goal of alleviating poverty; as well as engaging with other groups and projects with similar goals to facilitate potential partnerships. It will also help us further our secondary aims of promoting sustainability and fair practice within the fashion industry.

What's in it for the volunteer?

This is a creative challenge with freedom to explore different approaches and challenges and the opportunity to be a key player in expanding a seedling charity with a global vision.
