The Engagement coordinator is responsible for onboarding and supporting the volunteering team toensure volunteers have a positive and impactful experience with the organization.

What will you be doing?

The Volunteer Engagement coordinator is responsible for onboarding and supporting volunteers to ensure they have a positive and impactful experience with the organization. This role involves engaging with potential and current volunteers, developing strategies for volunteer retention in collaboration with the founder and other volunteer coordinators. The ideal candidate is passionate about fostering a welcoming community, has strong organizational skills, and is adept at building relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new volunteers, including orientations where necessary and necessary background checks.
  • Create and maintain a volunteer engagement plan that includes recognition events, and team-building activities.
  • Regularly assess volunteer satisfaction and gather feedback to improve the volunteer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information and engagement levels.
  • Compile bimonthly internal newsletter
  • Attend remote online meeting once a month with the volunteers coordinating team
  • Any other roles as assigned by Founder.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on relationship building. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with volunteer management software is a plus.
