As an Educational Facilitator at the Blue Magpie Foundation (BMF), you will play a vital role in providing educational guidance and mentoring support to children going though life challenges.

What will you be doing?

This position involves working with primary school students from diverse backgrounds, guiding them through school subject materials, and fostering a passion for learning. As an integral part of our team, you will help empower children going though challenging situations, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge for a brighter future. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Subject Guidance: Facilitate learning by guiding children through a variety of subjects, including Mathematics, Science, and English.
  2. Mentoring support: Coach and guide students to support their well-being and the development of essential life skills.
  3. Individualised Learning: Tailor educational approaches to cater to the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
  4. Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' progress, provide feedback, and offer additional support to address challenges or areas for improvement.
  5. Motivational Support: Foster a positive learning environment, encouraging students to stay engaged, motivated, and enthusiastic about their educational journey.
  6. Resource Sharing: Collaborate with the educational team to share valuable resources, teaching strategies, and best practices for enhancing student learning outcomes.
  7. Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open communication with students, parents, and team members.

What are we looking for?

  • Passion for BMF's mission of empowering vulnerable children and young adults through education.
  • Qualification and experience in teaching, education, or related fields.
  • Located in the UK.
  • Fluent in English, another language beneficial.
  • Minimum commitment of 6 months to a year.
  • Proficiency in multiple subjects, with the ability to cover a broad range of educational topics.
  • Proven proficiency in computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with online educational platforms and resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students of varying backgrounds.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to individual learning needs.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children.
  • Must pass an Enhanced DBS check.
