As an integral part of the EBF we want to develop an attractive and inspiring schools programme which will engage young people and help to develop a love of literature and the spoken word amongst Ealing's young people. 

What will you be doing?

We’re looking for someone enthused by developing our schools’ outreach programme to join our management team to advise and lead on the development of the programme. We see the role as broadly having the following responsibilities but would welcome discussions to develop the role before confirming the role description.

Responsibilities

  • In consultation with Ealing educators and librarians, develop an attractive schools’ programme.
  • Identify any funding required to implement the programme, and work with the Fundraiser to identify and apply for grants/sponsorship.
  • Identify and consult with any partners necessary to implement the programme.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the programme;
  • Evaluate the programme on completion, reflecting any lessons learnt into future programmes.

What are we looking for?

  • Knowledge and experience of the schools and learning sector.
  • Ideally a knowledge of the literacy curriculum in either the primary and/or secondary sectors.
  • Passionate about promoting the joys of reading among children and young adults.
  • Great people skills; approachable and friendly.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities

What difference will you make?

Your input will help to deliver a range of events/ activities for primary and secondary aged children which engage and encourage young people to read more and which develop their critical skills
