Communications & Social Media Volunteer - We require a Communications volunteer to manage and raise our profile locally and increase the awareness of a wider audience.

What will you be doing?

We want someone to create and lead a sustained campaign of awareness raising across local and wider media. We make a significant difference to improving the lives of local people living with a cancer diagnosis, yet we are a ‘hidden gem’. As Huntingdonshire’s best kept secret, we want to increase awareness and support for our charity.

What are we looking for?

The talents you’ll need

  • Experience of creating and implementing a communications plan which promotes our work to a wide range of stakeholders and influencers.
  • Ability to write engaging content and tell our story for a range of media.
  • Experience of all major social media platforms and moderation of pages.
  • Enjoy networking and making connections to identify opportunities for raising awareness.
  • A self-starter, able to work collaboratively across our virtual organisation.
  • Able to inspire and motivate others to get involved.

What difference will you make?

  • This is a great opportunity for you to make a valuable contribution to supporting people living with cancer.
  • You will be helping people in Huntingdonshire that need our support to enjoy the benefits of our programmes and services.

What's in it for the volunteer?

  • A case study for your portfolio.
  • You’ll gain experience of working in the charitable sector.
  • You’ll learn new skills or apply already learned ones.
  • You’ll meet new people and be part of a community.
  • You'll get a lot of satisfaction knowing you play a vital role in enabling us to inform, educate and raise money to fund vital services in the areas of exercise, nutrition and emotional well-being.
  • You’ll enjoy a collaborative environment and contribute to a dynamic team.
