Either in or out of office hours Estimate of time needed:
3-7 hours / week
Should be able to commit to at least 3 hours per week to seek out current fundraising opportunities and undertake applications.

We are growing, from 1 director and changing our legal structure to a CIC. We started as a small project in 2019 and now have 2 community fridges and have saved over 100 tonnes of good food from being wasted in West Sussex.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Director with fundraising experience to:

  • Attend regular Board meetings (frequency to be determined)
  • We don’t currently have a fundraising strategy so it'll be a chance to make a real impact on the future of the project
  • We want to grow and extend our services in West Sussex and help good food from being wasted and feed people.
  • Assist in Fare Divide budgetary planning with the Director - Finance
  • Ensure that all of the company's fundraising practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
  • Input in creating strategic plans for the future
  • Update and implement fundraising policies and procedures

What are we looking for?

  • Has the ability to quickly understand the changing needs/challenges faced by Fare Divide
  • Has accurate and up to date knowledge and experience of fundraising and any other relevant frameworks
  • Good leadership skills; management experience; integrity; honesty; understanding of data privacy standards
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, thorough understanding of business principles and practices
  • Superior attention to detail, organisational skills, planning skills, problem-solving skills
