Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We seek a Director of Finance/Treasurer to lead our financial strategy. Help us secure funding, manage budgets, and ensure sustainable growth as we provide critical services to young people.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a hands-on Trustee/Director to join our board and support our non-profit in driving positive change for children's emotional well-being. Our board is focused on strengthening our financial processes and strategic direction, and we're particularly interested in individuals who can offer practical involvement alongside governance.

BrightPaths Support is dedicated to early mental health intervention for children and young people. We seek a Director of Finance/Treasurer to oversee our financial management, develop annual and project-specific budgets, and support our fundraising and grant efforts. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, reviewing financial documents for grants, and working closely with the Executive Director to ensure the organisation remains financially robust.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing the overall budget and project-specific budgets
  • Preparing financial reports for board meetings and grant applications
  • Collaborating with the Executive Director and board to create long-term financial plans
  • Ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and compliance

This role is crucial to BrightPaths' strategic growth. If you have experience in financial management and a passion for supporting children's mental health, we'd love to hear from you.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a Treasurer who is passionate about improving children's emotional well-being and brings hands-on financial expertise to our board.

A strong background in finance is essential for this role, including experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and processes. Knowledge of charity finance would be highly beneficial.

Essential qualities include financial understanding, attention to detail, and collaboration. While experience in the charity or mental health sector is an asset, the most crucial factor is your commitment to ensuring our organisation's financial health and sustainability of our organisation.

What difference will you make?

As Treasurer, you will play a key role in shaping our financial strategy and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission. Your contributions will directly influence our capacity to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact on children's mental health and well-being.
