We are growing, from 1 director and changing our legal structure to a CIC. We started as a small project in 2019 and now have 2 community fridges and have saved over 100 tonnes of good food from being wasted in West Sussex.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Director with strong financial experience to:

  • Attend regular Board meetings (frequency to be determined)
  • Oversee, review, and adhere to the budgets for each Community Fridge and planning for new ones
  • Assist in Fare Divide budgetary planning
  • Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
  • Input in creating strategic plans for the future
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions
  • Tracking financial data, invoicing, payroll etc.
  • Prepare official reports on an annual basis
  • Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants
  • Update and implement financial policies and procedures

What are we looking for?

  • Has the ability to quickly understand the changing needs/challenges faced by Fare Divide
  • Has accurate and up to date knowledge and experience of community group finances and any other relevant frameworks
  • Good leadership skills; management experience; integrity; honesty; understanding of data privacy standards
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, thorough understanding of business principles and practices
  • Superior attention to detail, organisational skills, planning skills, problem-solving skills
