Reprezent is seeking a volunteer Director of Finance to guide our growth. Help shape strategy, support financial planning, and drive impact for thousands of young people in media and the arts. Trustee role, flexible commitment, London/remote.

What will you be doing?

We are Reprezent.

We empower, develop and train young people with little or no experience and equip them to create successful futures – at absolutely no cost to them.

Reprezent has grown over 22 years to a London-wide youth station collaborating with top institutions and global brands including Tate, Southbank, Nike, Adidas, Apple, Converse and Red Bull.

We’re now entering a pivotal phase of growth - with over 3,200 young people on our waiting list, a new website and a state-of-the-art studio and training space. We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Finance to join our board and help shape this exciting future.

The Opportunity

As we scale our impact and income generation, we need strong financial guidance to ensure sustainable growth. We’ve secured significant funding from the Arts Council and private investors, are launching new income streams, and are exploring new structures for social enterprise and brand licensing.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their financial expertise to support an ambitious, youth-powered social enterprise that’s changing lives and transforming culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial oversight and guidance to the executive team and Board of Directors
  • Support development of budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies for growth
  • Advise on business planning, funding applications, and financial governance
  • Monitor performance, risk, and compliance across income streams (grants, contracts, trading)
  • Help shape the financial model for new ventures (advertising, partnerships, IP, training)

We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience)
  • Understanding of charity or CIC finance and reporting (desirable but not essential)
  • Strategic thinker comfortable with both governance and innovation
  • Belief in equity, social mobility, and the power of young people
  • Someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and making things happen

What You’ll Gain:

  • Be part of a bold, culture-shifting organisation at a key growth stage
  • Directly support the next generation of creatives, broadcasters, and changemakers
  • A meaningful trustee role where your expertise drives real-world change
  • Work alongside a diverse and dynamic board, passionate about social impact

Impact

Our work addresses underlying issues which prevent people from fulfilling their potential, mainly:

low aspirations;

low self-esteem;

low skill levels.

The young people we support are amongst the most deprived in the country, scoring in the worst 10% on the index of multiple deprivation. Our core beneficiaries are 16-25, 75% BAME, 60% female.

Known as the birthplace of stars like Sherelle, Stormzy, Munya Chawawa, Femi Koleoso, Jamz Supernova, Novelist, Kenny Allstar, etc,

That's the public persona and what we want our audience to see. The reality is that we are full to the brim with music-obsessed young people from a lot of backgrounds. Those backgrounds are each young person's 'normal' - but it's the side of Reprezent we don't publicise. Amongst our ranks we have care leavers, homeless, beneficiaries with mental health issues and they are all in need of Reprezent and our support. We are dedicated to expand our work to reach hundreds of thousands of interactive listeners and thousands of young participants. Transforming lives, the economy and the British music scene.
