Calling all potential trustees with digital expertise, and a broad understanding of all aspects of digital and its potential, whether or not you’ve any trustee experience, to support our carers charity!
As we begin our digital transformation journey, the Digital Trustee will help the Board consider digital’s role across WAC’s strategy.
They will scrutinise all digital activity and assess where the opportunities and risks are.
They will empower the rest of the Board to understand what digital is right for WAC; and support the management embed digital ways of working.
They will be a good communicator, with a commitment to what WAC delivers and be willing to be engaged in the overarching direction and strategy.
It is not necessary to have previous trustee or board committee experience as training and induction will be provided. This position would therefore suit an individual taking their first steps.
At WAC, our Board has 9 Trustees with a broad range of skills, experiences and backgrounds and many have caring experience.
If you are not white, middle aged or retired, so much the better as we aim to increase the diversity of our Board. We therefore welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds, particularly from people of colour, under 30s, etc. Everyone’s input will be valued and support will be available to a new trustee.
Trustees have to commit to at least 13 days per year, including 4 Board meetings, 4 sub-committee meetings, 4 trustee meetings and our AGM. However, all trustees add value by meeting staff, volunteers, etc., and attending other meetings.
There is no financial remuneration, though expenses for travel and out-of-pocket expenses may be claimed. There will be an induction and training programme.
In normal times, meetings are held at the office in Worcester. Currently all meetings are held on Zoom.
We look forward to hearing from you.
