Either in or out of office hours Estimate of time needed:
3-7 hours / week
4 -6 hours a week, flexible days/hours. There are monthly Trustee meetings [usually early evening] sometimes online and sometimes at CREW centre.

CREW needs to develop its social media reach. The Digital Trustee will liaise with the board and lead on activities to ensure events, workshops and projects are shared widely.

What will you be doing?

Trustees share formal responsibility for our charity and must act in its best interests, regardless of how they are elected or appointed. Trustees take on specific roles on the board, such as chair, secretary treasurer, fundraiser, volunteer and project coordination. 

CREW needs to develop its social media reach and ensure our events and project work is up to date and reflected on its website. The Digital Trustee needs to liaise with the general board and project lead on activities to ensure the full gamut of events, talks, workshops and project work is shared to raise awareness and increase awareness of our objectivesand achievements.

We are looking for someone with three years professional experience in marketing and digital media and who would enjoy working with a new and evolving local community charity. Ideally they would possess web design skills too. It would be preferable if you live locally in Worthing or nearby and would like to be part of a team passionate about building community resilience in the face of the climate and ecological crisis.

What are we looking for?

Experience in social media platforms and ideally experience in using Google Drive, documents and forms. An enthusiasm and drive for the charity's objectives and aims is essential. It would be preferable if you live near Worthing and would like to be part of a team passionate about building community resilience in the face of the climate and ecological crisis. Effective, clear communication skills are vital for this role and a caring, friendly approach that helps people feel valued and part of the team. The ability to be able to problem solve independently and play a key role in the smooth running of our charity and its work is essential. 

What difference will you make?

Climate Resilience Centre Worthing - CREW has an accessible central space in the town centre and is providing a steady series of talks & workshops on all aspects of climate change and sustainability. CREW has many links to local groups, schools, businesses and local councils and is working to provide information and build community resilience.We need to work together with urgency to generate the pathways to a safer world.

To make this possible change must come from the ground up. You will help to build community action and resilience, push for urgent governmental change and plan local adaptation.
