Volunteers are required weekly either 8 weeks on rota or during digital drop in sessions over 12 weeks

Bridge the gap ending Digital Poverty C.I.C is a Community interest organisation based in Hackney set up to support families , children and the wider community.

What will you be doing?

  • Must live in or be local to Hackney
  • To support residents in basic tech knowledge using digital devices such as Laptops, tablets /Ipads or phones
  • To support/guide participants to navigate through their devices safely
  • To support residents on a one to one basis weekly for 8 weeks or during our weekly drop in sessions
  • To Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents enabling them to build confidence
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
  • To support residents to give feedback on what they have learnt

What are we looking for?

  • Technical knowledge and experience
  • IT skills to support others to set up basic accounts such as email etc or zoom
  • Patience 
  • Good time management, being able to manage your time wisely

  • Great initiative skills

What difference will you make?

Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our service users, community, stakeholders, funders, and the general public. With your help, we can continue to offer digital engagement sessions to those who lack confidence in using technology. This will help them build confidence and potentially use their devices to explore further opportunities such as work, courses, and learning new skills. By sharing our experiences with patience and providing a supportive and friendly atmosphere, residents will feel confident enough to engage and thrive without the added pressures or fear of technology in a safe space.
