We are looking to add an enthusiastic Digital Marketing specialist to our small charity who can increase our reach and donor base. They will be an integral part of the team, helping us to support girls and women in Kenya overcome period poverty.

What will you be doing?

We would like an experienced and skilled person to develop our digital marketing strategy and run our social media activity on various channels. This includes creating content, posting, engagement and building our audiences. They should be very hands-on and work closely with our four volunteer Trustees, generating ideas and opportunities for social media and the charity's development. As an essential team player, the person will have an opportunity for wider involvement in the charity as a Trustee position is an option.

The role will involve working on a long term digital plan and then implementing this on a weekly basis. They will be a great organiser and have activities planned in advance to ensure efficiency and good time management. The role should take around two hours per week, but more at the initial stages as plans are developed. They will also be committed and motivated and able to work confidently on their own initiative.

What are we looking for?

  • Experienced and skilled in developing digital marketing and communications strategies
  • Experienced and skilled in developing ideas and using social media to increase reach, engagement and fundraising
  • Experienced in managing professional accounts on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Self motivated who can work alone and also as part of a small team
  • Organised and capable of working to deadlines
  • Proactive and hands on and not afraid to get ‘stuck in’
  • Knowledgeable and interested in girl’s, women’s and global issues

What difference will you make?

The role is vital to the growth of the charity as we aim to share our stories and purpose to a wider audience, and build our supporters. We are running successful pad projects in poor and rural parts of Kenya that are providing girls with free period pads and empowering local women and communities. We have some amazing success stories to share and so the person who fills this role will have a compelling narrative with which to engage potential donors. They will very much be an important team member who will be helping us deliver life changing period pads and skills to the most needy girls and women.

Before you apply

Please apply through Reach in the first instance and contact them with any questions. Interviews will be an informal video chat with one or more of the Trustees.
