This role is fully remote, offering you the freedom to work flexibly.

Take ownership of building our volunteer intranet in WordPress and shape a digital hub that empowers our community. If you’re agile-minded, skilled in content design, and eager to create clarity out of complexity, we need you!

What will you be doing?

You’ll lead the end-to-end development of our volunteer intranet using WordPress and the Hero Themes knowledge base software. From scoping requirements and designing information architecture, to testing and rolling out new features, you’ll ensure our volunteers have an intuitive space to find what they need. You’ll work closely with our founder, gathering feedback and incorporating updates as part of an agile process. Key tasks will include:

  • Planning the site layout and user journey
  • Researching and organising existing policies, documents and practice notes
  • Creating and curating easy-to-understand content
  • Implementing iterative improvements to enhance user experience

What are we looking for?

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong WordPress skills, ideally with knowledge base or similar plugins
  • Demonstrable experience in content design, writing and editing
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • The ability to interpret and organise complex information
  • A proactive approach, comfortable working independently and making decisions
  • Familiarity with agile principles and remote collaboration

What difference will you make?

By creating this digital hub, you’ll enable our volunteers to efficiently access all the resources they need to make a positive impact. Your work will streamline communication, ensure everyone has up-to-date guidance, and foster a sense of community and cohesion across the organisation.

Before you apply

Please send us a copy of your CV and a covering letter outlining how your skills and experience meet our requirements. We will invite suitable candidates to an informal interview and, if successful, you will be asked to complete BPSS vetting. If you have any questions about the process, feel free to get in touch.
