Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen is a non-profit organisation dedicated to combating food insecurity. Our mission is to provide access to wholesome meals cooked from surplus produce for individuals facing hardship.

What will you be doing?

As a small non-profit organization embarking on our mission to address food insecurity and build thriving communities, we are seeking a Graphic Designer and Filmmaker to join us in our journey towards creating impactful visual content.

The Graphic Designer and Filmmaker will be tasked with generating innovative and captivating materials that serve as a compelling platform for knowledge dissemination. We are in need of fresh, attention-grabbing ideas that will resonate with potential donors and members of the community, drawing them into our cause.

Key deliverables for the Graphic Designer and Filmmaker include designing visually appealing graphics for social media, website, and promotional materials, as well as creating engaging short films to showcase our mission, impact, and the stories of those we serve.

In this collaborative role, you will work closely with Lizzie, who manages the social media platforms of Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program. Furthermore, you will be closely collaborating with Shadae, the Founder/Director of SSCKP, to align creative strategies with the organization's vision and goals.

Recognizing that the role is dynamic and open to creative input, we welcome your expertise and vision to help shape the direction of SSCKP. Flexibility in terms of work scheduling is encouraged, allowing for a productive and adaptable working environment. Your guidance and support will play a pivotal role in expanding our reach, building awareness, and fostering community engagement through visually compelling content. We look forward to working together to drive positive change and make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.

What are we looking for?

1. Graphic Design Software Expertise:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools.

2. Creativity:

Ability to conceptualize and create visually appealing graphics that effectively convey the organization's message.

3. Brand Awareness:

Understanding of branding principles to maintain consistency across all visual materials.

4. Communication Skills:

Ability to collaborate with team members and interpret feedback to enhance design projects.

A Film Maker should possess the following skills:

1. Video Production Expertise:

Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and experience in shooting and editing video content.

2. Storytelling:

Ability to tell compelling stories through visual medium, capturing the essence of Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen's mission and impact.

3. Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of camera techniques, lighting, sound, and editing to produce high-quality video content.

4. Project Management:

Ability to manage video production schedules, budgets, and deliver projects on time and within scope.

What difference will you make?

Together with the assistance of a skilled Graphic Designer and Filmmaker, Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP) aims to effectively communicate our mission and endeavors to our service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public. Our primary objective is to acquire a mobile cooking facility and outreach hub that will facilitate our efforts in reaching and assisting more members of the community.

Through the collaboration with our envisioned Graphic Designer and Filmmaker, we seek to visually narrate the journey of SSCKP — from the collection of surplus produce to the creation of smart food bags for our service users. By showcasing the behind-the-scenes operations of sorting through food donations, distributing food parcels to community members in need, and conducting informative cooking classes, we aim to illustrate the heart of our organization and the values we uphold.

Our narrative will delve into the essence of what we stand for at SSCKP — a commitment to alleviating food insecurity, fostering community connections, and uplifting the lives of those in need. With the creative expertise of a Graphic Designer and Filmmaker, we aspire to convey the impact of our initiatives, the stories of resilience within our community, and the transformative power of collective care and support.

By capturing the essence of SSCKP through engaging visuals and compelling storytelling, we aim to raise awareness, inspire action, and garner support towards our fundraising goal of acquiring a mobile kitchen facility. Through these collaborative efforts, we envision a future where no individual in our community goes hungry, where every person feels valued, nourished, and empowered through the services provided by Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program.
