1 day per week plus attending Board meetings (2 hours each, approx 10 per year) Attendance at more occasional Volunteer and public events.

The Digital Development Trustee has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the BHVC Digital Policy. 

They will run the BHVC website, aided by Volunteers as required.  

What will you be doing?

BHVC's current challenges and goals are to:

  1. further embrace the digital world so as to allow further development of the way we share the history of Bampton and surrounding villages. In particular to modernise our approaches and the image we portray to make it more appealing and offer easier access:
  2. encourage people to volunteer with BHVC across all the roles we offer
  3. remain financially viable and able to fund projects as set out in the Strategic Plan

The immediate role you would play:

  1. To draft a new Digital Strategy to be agreed by all Trustees 
  2. To be involved in setting up a stand alone BHVC website
  3. To support projects using digital information, e.g. QR codes for unguided church tours and town walks

The qualities and attributes that we are looking for:

  • A willingness to help deliver the aims of BHVC through working with other Trustees and Volunteers. 
  • Strong communicator and teamworker. 
  • Successful track record in creation and maintenance of websites and ecommerce.  
  • Experience of working at both hands-on and leadership level. 
  • Experience of delivering transformational change to business technologies and processes thus delivering service improvements. 
  • Experience of current digital project management practices. 
  • Ability to work at a strategic and visionary level whilst understanding the detail and complexities of delivery. 
  • Ability to analyse risks and opportunities, and take a balanced approach to both. 
  • Extensive networks, and a willingness to draw on contacts as appropriate.

The role of Digital Development Trustee is so important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track digitally, but even more significantly, as BHVC concludes its 11th working year we are looking for someone to help us formulate a vision for the future.
