Do you love Art and Technology and the digital art market? Did you study Art History and are aware of who's who in the Digital Contemporary art world? This volunteer position is for you.

What will you be doing?

There are several areas to explore as a digital curator:

  1. podcast interviews of digital artists / technologists,
  2. Agora Talk to moderate and to write a blog post,
  3. Curate a solo exhibition with the artist in residency, in VR

We welcome established professionals and fresh new talents who rocks in Digital Art. The purpose is to explain that digital art is ART.

Agora breaks away from the conventional framework of Meet Ups by producing a virtual networking event.

Our curatorial style achieves an effortless journey into the boundless world of the international digital art scene with a strong focus on digital art and digital women artists.

We take a genuine interest in the artists’ career that we invite to talk by producing a blog and explaining the relevance of the project presented by the artist.

Agora embraces works of all styles in our selection of digital artists (computer, internet art, 2D, 3D, installation, sound, performance, film, animation and so forth). And, any tech person who can share a compelling story about art and technology.

 

Responsibilities

  • Selection of the guest and build a strong quality programme.
  • Create high-quality persuasive and critical short-form blog (about 700 words)
  • Moderation of the talks: introduce and prepare questions for the talk's guests.
  • Ensure that all material is delivered on time
  • Conceptualise a VR exhibition
  • Support artists on critical theory writing for the Digital Residency Lab

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with an interest in the arts and the ability to think creatively. They will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills. You are self-motivated and can also work in a team on various projects.

I am expecting you to have deep knowledge of the new media category. There is a lot to learn and a lot of space for personal development.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree in art history, curating digital art, combined with previous writing experience in the art sector.
  • Interest in interviewing the guests prior to their presentation
  • Please send a copy of an article that you wrote.

 

Commitment

With the Covid-19 crisis, a lot of people are available. Even if any support is welcome, I am looking for a mid-term commitment of min. 3 months.
