SOFA Project is looking for someone with proven experience in the use of a range of social media to develop its social media and digital platform

What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities

Work with SOFA Project to develop its social media and digital capabilities to:

  • Improve quantity and quality of donations of furniture (including specific homewares, appliances, furniture items, household goods and paint)
  • Encourage people to visit its shops or buy on online in its eBay store.
  • Build visibility and support for SOFA Project and its charitable work (Brand building).

To work with SOFA Project to grow engagement on social media and digital media. To specifically recommend, develop and implement for:

  • Increasing the Charity’s social media presence where it is likely to be seen by potential donors and customers
  • Encouraging donation through imaginative and well planned, professionally written posting
  • Encouraging conversion to actual donation/drop off of donated goods at all sites, especially the warehouse location
  • Stimulating interest through social media in buying of furniture, homewares, household goods and paint through shops or online (eBay)
  • Increasing the number of followers on social media (currently Instagram) and the monthly Newsletter
  • Optimising Search for searches like “Furniture donations Bristol.”

In time to investigate:

  • Paid advertising on social media e.g. Marketing via YELP or Google Ads.
  • Search for “free” furniture etc, items with the possible aim to collect a number of such items per week in the Bristol area should resources permit.
  • Reputation management - furthering the reputation of SOFA Project through the management of reviews

We are looking for a Trustee ideally with legal, retail, income generation or digital/social media experience

SOFA Project is a charity and social enterprise that plays a key role in the Bristol economy in preventing items going to landfill. It supports people who otherwise can't get jobs to upcycle these items to then provide household goods and furniture to low income families.
