What will you be doing?

School of Sexuality Education is looking for a Design / Communications Consultant who will help the charity build its reputation as a leading voice in the UK for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).

The role would involve:

  • Support with the charity's digital communications and strategy,
  • Assist with the design and publication of newsletters, blogs, and reports
  • Help produce graphics that support SSE’s communication goals across all platforms.
  • Help with the maintenance and update of the charity's website,
  • Advise on consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all communication materials,
  • Liaise with the Comms and PR team for a joined up approach to the charity's communications (social media, press, marketing).

Advisors may also be invited to attend School of Sexuality Education events from time to time.

We are looking for people to commit to 1-2 hours a week.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people with an interest in education, particularly the transformative impact of inclusive Relationships and Sex Education.

Skills and experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in design or communications,
  • Graphic design skills and proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva),
  • Ability to create engaging visuals that communicate SSE’s message,
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills - reflecting the charity’s professional integrity as well as its unembarrassable approach,
  • Understanding of branding principles and visual design,
  • Enjoy working independently and collaboratively as part of a team,
  • Experience of strategy planning and implementation.

Our values and mission are important to us and we expect our team to model our approach of inclusivity and passion for social justice. As a charity working with young people all team members must understand the importance of safeguarding children (training will also be provided).

What difference will you make?

Volunteers will play a key role in raising awareness of the charity's work, and help bust myths and taboos around sex, relationships, bodies, and health.
