We are seeking individuals who can offer a an overview of their competencies through Virtual Work Experience. Our work will target Yr 12 (16-17yr olds) with their route to employment and taste of your world of work.
Could you do a pre-recorded talk to students to start off their Virtual Work Experience; it could include an introduction to your industry, an overview and summary on particular roles within your or your colleagues sectors, a workplace tour of your office if you are back at work, or that may have been pre-recorded before COVID19 or of your ‘home set up’ whilst mid COVID 19 (this would be great to show a comparison). This Virtual work experience will help to keep students engaged throughout this time, whilst they would have been going on their planned work experience placement. It will make students aware of workplace challenges, bring them new knowledge with you sharing your top tips on skills for the workplace, and Labour Market Information (LMI) within the area your business is located. This opportunity can also include a participation in webinars for face-to-face interaction with the students who chose an interest in your business area.
Additionally, if an activity/task could be set based on your business that the students could complete as part of the virtual work experience placement that would be a huge addition. For example, this could be based on an upcoming project that you may be working on or a problem solving activity based on the effects COVID 19 has had on your business.
