Time

Are you passionate about improving young people's mental health & wellbeing? Do you have experience managing & coordinating? Have a few hours a week to spare to a much needed local charity? You could be our next chair person! 

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the county committee of dedicated volunteers
  • Take on an ambassadorial role and promote the service locally and support fundraising efforts
  • Be the eyes & ears of the county; staying up to date with service levels, fundraising & local developments in the sector
  • Represent your county to the Board (as a Board member)
  • Establish county targets & liaise with the Treasurer & CEO

What are we looking for?

The county chair will have:

Essential

  • Experience in managing & coordinating
  • Excellent people skills to coordinate and manage the Dorset committee.
  • IT skills (Microsoft 365 - Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Organisation skills 
  • Flexible, willing attitude. 
  • An interest in improving children & families' wellbeing.

Desirable:

  • The County Chair need not have a clinical background, though an understanding of mental health issues is extremely helpful. 
  • Previous charity experience is helpful. 

What difference will you make?

With your help we will be able to continue to deliver low cost, early intervention counselling to children, young people and families across Dorset. Your advocacy will help us to thrive and make our long term growth sustainable at a critical time. Your management and people skills will help to steer the Dorset committee, keeping the volunteers and activities coordinated and recruiting new committee members as and when needed.
