We need a dynamic and experienced corporate fundraiser to maximise donations and opportunities for us with local and national companies. We are all about nature and biodiversity, people and planet!
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to design and deliver our corporate fundraising approach, in other words approach companies on our behalf! We consider this a short to medium term position however we are happy to be advised by the successful volunteer. The key objective is to bring in corporate donations. Other corporate partnership or sponsorship opportunities can also be explored. This essential work for us, as a start-up social enterprise, will be fully supported by the manager and the chair.
We have a specific focus on SMEs based in the south of Scotland and a significant amount of company research has already been undertaken. However, as our work is nature-focused and related to both the climate change and biodiversity loss emergencies of which there is much greater public and corporate awareness, we believe this is a good time to seek funding support from the private sector.
We would like someone with at least 3 years direct corporate fundraising experience. A good self-starter and able to lead confidently on the design and delivery of approaches to companies and businesses. We are a small team, all remotely based. We need someone who is able to work proactively as part of that team. A positive an friendly manner would be great, as it reflects us and the feel of our business. A basic understanding of climate change and/or biodiversity loss would be useful, although we are keen to promote the positive contributions our work will make to those issues as oppose to focusing on the issues themselves. A knowledge of the SMEs landscape in Scotland would be useful, and particular knowledge or contacts across businesses in the central belt and the south of Scotland.
Your input at this early stage in our story will significantly influence how we approach companies and the benefits to both them and us! Securing one-off and ongoing financial support from Scottish and UK businesses would make a tremendous difference to both the natural habitats we’re working on as well as the development and sustainability of us during these formative months.
We believe in what we are doing, and how it will impact positively for nature and for the local communities across Scotland where we will be working.
Everyone involved with Solas is committed to enhancing biodiversity and improving local places for people and nature. We come from either the public or third sectors originally and will be reliant on the knowledge and expertise of our corporate fundraiser. We believe we have a very positive business model and a very inspiring story to tell and become engaged with - we just need your help connecting us to like-minded and responsible businesses!
Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Interviews will be an informal chat with the manager, at the earliest opportunity.
