DEN, deaf-led seeks a skilled volunteer to support grant writing, and contract management. DEN empowers, deaf and hard-of-hearing community through BSL classes, advocacy, and inclusive events. Your support will drive real impact!

What will you be doing?

DEN is looking for an experienced and motivated individual who is willing to volunteer their support in managing contracts and securing funding through successful grant applications. As a Deaf-led organisation, we are dedicated to empowering the Deaf community by improving access to services, education, and employment opportunities.

In this volunteer role, you will play a key part in strengthening DEN’s sustainability by identifying funding opportunities, preparing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. Your expertise and generosity will help us expand our reach and continue making a positive impact on the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and public sector grants.
  • Write and submit compelling funding applications to secure financial support.
  • Review and manage contracts to ensure compliance and maximise benefits for DEN.
  • Develop relationships with funders, stakeholders, and partners to enhance funding opportunities.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to align funding applications with DEN’s strategic goals.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of the charity and voluntary sector.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about supporting the Deaf community.

What are we looking for?

Skills:

  • Strong grant writing and fundraising abilities
  • Excellent contract management and compliance understanding
  • Ability to research and identify funding opportunities
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial planning

Experience:

  • Previous experience in fundraising, bid writing, or grant applications
  • Experience working in the charity or voluntary sector
  • Understanding of contract negotiation and management
  • Experience working with Deaf organisations or accessibility services (preferred but not essential)

Qualities:

  • Passionate about supporting the Deaf, Deafblind, and hard-of-hearing community
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative
  • Detail-oriented and organised, with excellent time management
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to share expertise
