Interview experts, research new fields, develop social media campaigns and increase public engagement around self-provisioning and commoning.

What will you be doing?

We'd like to meet doers who can ask the right questions, set targets and deliver results without needing supervision or probing. We'd like to meet someone with a track record of research and interest in solutions that can create systemic change to global problems. We want to meet someone who can speak to a wide range of people from activists to academics and interview them with authenticity and curiosity which resonates with the audience.Your role will initially be helping with editorial tasks for Lowimpact.org, one of the oldest sites for sustainability and self-provisioning. We’d like you to help create content and increase social media engagement and followership. We currently have 11k blog subscribers, 11k facebook followers, 4k facebook group and 3.2k youtube followers.

You will work closely with the director of Lowimpact.org, who has been actively curating and developing the site's content for over twenty years. The role is not set in stone, but if you are able to fulfil this specific role well, there is potential for a paid role.

What are we looking for?

We'd like to meet someone with:

  • A passion for research in different sustainability and self-provisioning concepts and ideas.
  • An ability to write content to the standard of the site, ideally with journalism background.
  • Experience in interviewing individuals.

We need someone with a professional background who can:

  • Self-organise and deliver results.
  • Work with a small team and take initiative.

What difference will you make?

With climate change, resource depletion, war and mass migration accelerating, we need ways to create abundance cheaply and quickly. Your contribution will continue to increase the reach, research and accessibility of Lowimpact.org as a reliable database of best practices.

Before you apply

Please only apply once you have a grasp of the type of content you are expected to produce on lowimpact.org, including YouTube interview videos on its channel. To reduce our burden on interviews and not waste your time, please do not apply unless you are seriously interested in the role and able to engage on a wide range of subjects discussed on the site.
