Who we are

The Association owns and manages the Greenwood Centre, the local village hall. The charity's purpose is to promote provision of facilities for leisure time occupations for local inhabitants.

What will you be doing?

The skills listed are just an indication - any would be desirable but not a pre-requisite.

General Responsibilities

  • Leading on applying for grants and fundraising activities
  • Attending meetings (9-10 annually)
  • Following up on actions from meetings
  • Maintaining good financial management
  • Ensuring the Centre is maintained to an excellent standard

What are we looking for?

What we need

People with commitment and enthusiasm who are willing to take on unpaid responsibility and have new ideas and creativity to progress the Association into an even more active role within our local community.

Useful experience:

  • Charity governance
  • Event organisation
  • Successful grant application skills

What difference will you make?

We currently have three trustees. Ideally we would like to increase to the maximum number of eight, giving us a robust Board with diverse expertise to increase the work the charity can do and the speed with which it can achieve the projects on which it embarks. Applying for grants and fundraising, to pay for hall maintenance and to expand on our charitable activities are particular concerns for the foreseeable future.

Before you apply

Applicants should provide a CV covering the relevant skills and experience for the role of a trustee. Successful applicants will be provided with a Trustee Guidance pack and set of Association Policies to read prior to attending an interview.  They will be able to ask questions at the end of the interview.

Applicants should indicate in their application the reasons for their interest and what extra skills and experience they will bring to the Board.
