What will you be doing?

The Land Collective is a social enterprise focused on empowering young people aged 16-21 by creating pathways into the real estate and built environment sectors. We collaborate with schools, employers, and community partners to deliver programmes that build skills, raise aspirations, and create meaningful career opportunities.

We are in the process of formalising our communications strategy and need a passionate and skilled volunteer to help us build our voice, highlight our impact, and amplify our message.

What You’ll Do

  • Content Creation and Thought Leadership:
    • Write and publish blog posts on topics such as social impact, employability, and youth development to position The Land Collective as a thought leader in these areas.
    • Research and write compelling stories about our alumni and community members to showcase the tangible outcomes of our programmes.
    • Manage and update the blog section of our website using WordPress, ensuring content reaches the right audience.
  • Impactful Storytelling:
    • Develop and execute strategies to share our alumni and member stories in meaningful ways that resonate with stakeholders.
  • PR and Media Outreach (Optional):
    • Depending on availability and experience, support with PR initiatives, including pitching stories to large media publications and managing event coverage.
    • Create press materials to promote our work to external audiences.
  • Strategic Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Founder/CEO and board to execute and refine our communications strategy.
    • Take ownership of communication processes to improve how we connect with our audience and stakeholders.

Key Deliverables

  • A series of blog posts and thought leadership pieces published on our website.
  • A portfolio of alumni and member stories that showcase the organisation’s impact.
  • A clear, actionable communications strategy to guide ongoing efforts.
  • Enhanced visibility of our work through PR, media, and outreach efforts (if applicable).

What are we looking for?

  • Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities.
  • Excellent understanding of WordPress and content management systems.
  • Knowledge of B2B communications and how to engage corporate audiences.

Experience:

  • Background in PR, communications, or copywriting, preferably within a non-profit or social enterprise setting.
  • Experience writing thought leadership content or managing communication strategies.
  • Familiarity with sharing impact stories and managing media relations is a plus.

Qualities:

  • Passionate about social mobility, career development and youth empowerment.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working independently while maintaining collaboration with the team.

What difference will you make?

As Communications Lead, your work will amplify the voices of the young people we support and highlight the transformative impact of our programmes. Through your storytelling, you will inspire confidence in current partners, attract new supporters, and position The Land Collective as a thought leader in social impact, employability, and youth development.

Your contributions will also play a pivotal role in building a strong communication strategy, laying the foundation for sustainable growth and deeper connections with stakeholders.
